#158 Hello Summer 2014
Monday 28 April 2014

Oh hi, check out these happy faces. Yup, that's right, FINALS have officially ended (last week actually). You'd think that I'd be much more free after the last paper, but I've been somewhat swamped since. To be fair, I did spend the whole of Friday sleeping and slacking around. But I've also been out and about, going for interviews for my internship. I'm very thankful there's finally some progress on that front. I've not been made any offers yet so fingers crossed. Hopefully I'll receive some good news this week. Aside from that, I also have my OCSP responsibilities to think about. There's going to be a meeting tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.

Went for a short gym session after the last paper because I've been relatively sedentary throughout the course of the past few weeks. Am a little bit more nervous than I was last term with regards to the release of grades. I know I'll do badly for some modules, I'm just praying it won't be too much of a train wreck. Anyway, swung by Relish by Wild Rocket at the Botanic Gardens afterwards for a nice afternoon lunch with some of my friends. It was definitely a great way to start our summer (and help forget about results for a while).

Cappuccino and Hand-Cut Onion Rings with Curry Mayo to start off our celebratory lunch. I was very excited to try their other burgers (I've actually visited the outlet at Serangoon Gardens before) - Wild Rocket Beef Burger, Blue Cheese and William Pear Beef Burger & their Ram-Lee Beef Burger. I order the one with the blue cheese, while sampling a bit of the rest from my friends, and I have to say that I enjoyed my order the most, ha-ha. That's not saying the others were bad; they were delicious as well. I guess I particularly enjoyed mine because there was a unique flavour to it which I've never come across before. I mean, blue cheese, walnut peanut butter, William pear AND beef? You've got to try that at least once.

We received complimentary desserts as well because a friend knows the chef personally - how cool is that?! Plus, the chef happened to be around, such an awesome treat! We got to sample all 3 of their desserts on the menu and all 3 were DAMN GOOD. I know my vocabulary seems limited, but you get the gist. Pity we were stuffed to the brim from our main courses. I've only featured one of the desserts, Pandan Infused Panna Cotta with Gula Melaka, because the rest didn't photograph as prettily. But again, I need to reiterate - they were ALL very delectable.

Thanks chef for the complimentary dishes on that day! It was quite exciting to meet him and he's very friendly and easy to talk to. Alright, I know this may seem abrupt but I'm going to end off my entry here because I want to go back to watching Game of Thrones. Recently started watching the series and I'm hooked. There's so much nudity in it, but it's not porn since it's on HBO (ha-ha, saw a 9GAG post on it on Facebook today).

XOXO, T.
