#208 MY FIRST VLOG
Sunday, 30 August 2015

Wow, it's been well over two months since I've last blogged. Guess working life has really taken a toll on me. In addition to constantly feeling sleepy, all the weight I lost whilst in Japan has gradually found its way back to my body, ha-ha. However, overall, I can't really complain much about my job. I'm just still at the stage where I'm trying to find my groove at work, and commuting can be a real bitch. Other than that, I'm thankful. This VLOG was actually filmed whilst I was away on a department retreat. I know right? Working for less than two months and I get to travel with my company already, ha-ha. Anyway, I'm just dropping in to say that I'm still alive. Enjoy the VLOG - it may be a tad bit long and boring. I'll try to make my future VLOGs more entertaining!

XOXO, T.

#181 Project Agape: Kashgar (Uyghur Cultural Centre)
Wednesday, 17 September 2014

Another aspect of our OCSP (in addition to educating secondary school children in Tashkurgan) was refurbishing the Uyghur Cultural Centre in Kashgar. By now, the temperature had taken a huge change and it was sweltering in Kashgar (hence the drastic change in our attire). Refurbishing included cleaning and tidying the interior of the cultural centre (no photos because it wasn't particularly interesting) as well as painting a mural on the external wall of the place.

Many many MANY photos of this adorable boy, Abdul Salam, who was busy running around whilst we were doing our work. Apparently, his parents work and live at the cultural centre (think they tend to the chores around the centre). He probably doesn't see many visitors on a day to day basis. Hence, the sudden arrival of 17 English-speaking young adults must have excited him quite a bit. Really love how the photos turned out; I think it not only captures his glee, but the simple things that bring him joy which you won't see in Singaporean children.

PROOF that our OCSP wasn't all about taking #OOTDs, riding horses or visiting stone fortresses, ha-ha. We spent an entire day white-washing the external wall and another day painting the mural. Let me tell you this, it ain't easy trying to white wash a wall made from mud instead of bricks. The painting of the mural on the other hand was actually quite enjoyable and therapeutic, minus the sun beating down our backs. Just thankful I didn't get sun burnt even though I was resembling a lobster towards the end of the day. Think the only truly challenging part of this whole experience was visiting the loo. Oh goodness, just typing about it out brings back so many nightmares about the sight and smell of the water cabinet. OKAY, moving on~

And here's me with the final product - a Uyghur man guiding his camel into the sunset (which my big ass head is blocking). I'm quite proud of what we accomplished as a team. We managed to work extremely well together and finished way ahead of time. This gave us more opportunities to bond and get to know one another even better. Below is a time lapse video we recorded using a GoPRO to show the formation of the mural painting. This is my first time embedding an InstaVideo so I hope it loads on your computers/laptops. Oh and if you haven't already done so, follow me on Instagram.

#48 Skydiving at Whistler
Wednesday, 19 June 2013

Seriously, this is one of the most memorable things I've done in my life. Skydiving - checked off my bucket list ✔ There really isn't any way to best describe the feeling, so I'll attach the video that I had recorded at the end of this blog post. I look fucking ugly and fat inside the video but whatever, at least I have something to remember the experience by. Kind of disappointed that the quality of the video is so poor though, we had to fork out close to CAD$90 extra for the video recording :(
To be honest, it isn't as scary as most people make it out to be. I, for one, am freaking humji already and I wasn't even that nervous when I was up in the sky. I was more cold than anything else; fingers hurt like a mofo after the whole thing. The only scary part is when the instructors swing open the door and you're getting ready to leap off. After that, it's just this feeling of free falling for about 30 seconds before the parachute gets released and you're slowly floating to the ground. Aye, just watch the video at the end of this post and have a good laugh :)

Played around the Pemberton airport area while the rest took turns to skydive. There were 8 of us in total and we flew up in pairs. I went first with Joanna, so we had tons of time to frolic around after we were done (of course, getting ready to take photos for the rest after they jumped out of the plane). They were so many dandelions growing everywhere that I think I went a tad overboard plucking and blowing them. There was also this super adorable, fluffy and friendly golden retriever that I managed to snap a photo with :)

Took a couple of group photos after everything was done - 1 with the instructors, 1 with just the 8 of us and 1 with the Mexican students who are here on exchange with us (surprised that only 4 of them were brave enough to go skydiving). The whole experience was pretty costly though, so if you're ever in Whistler and decide to go for this activity, prepare to burn a hole in your pocket.

XOXO, T.

#15 귀요미 (Gwiyomi)
Wednesday, 27 March 2013

HAHAHA, can I first say that when people started doing their versions of Gwiyomi, I never once thought that I'd jump on the bandwagon. I mean, it's like HARLEM SHAKE for crying out loud. BUT, I guess this is less annoying to most people and it is also easier to record because it's all about acting cute. However, I am well aware that I'm not very cute. So, I'm only going to post the video here. LOL, too paiseh to post on FB, where there are so many cuter versions.

Did this because I am super bored. My CPU has been at my father's office since Friday and my laptop doesn't have League of Legends :( I've already watched 3 different movies on my Mac so I decided to be random and record this video after dinner. Besides, cam-whoring to attract attention is soooo 2012. Move over selca(s), it's time to make way for YouTube videos, ha-ha.

The quality of the video is quite bad, I recorded it using my Mac, ha-ha. Was trying to edit it with iMovie but the only thing I know how to edit are photos. Hence, this is totally unedited :( I'm very not used to being unable to edit anything that goes up on social media. CAN'T EVEN FILTER YOU KNOW?!? Oh well, here I am in my full obese glory. At least the bad lighting makes my skin look flawless :D -silver lining-

XOXO, T.
